Vietri sul Mare is a picturesque seaside resort, the first town you meet along the Amalfi
coast which can be considered "the first gem, nestled in the most protected in the Gulf of
Salerno, immediately west of the capital city (5km away) . The Centrodi Vietri, dominated
by San Liberatore mountain, sits on a corner terrace overlooking the sea and is dominated
by the Church of St John the Baptist, the main monument, planting seventeenth century,
topped by the elegant majolica dome. The underlying large and well equipped beach stretches
 the Marina village, destination for tourists and summer weekends, with a central tower of
